Why we have a Democrat for President instead of a Republican
56I think the way you asked your question, "How did we let a Democrat into office?", is hilarious. It's almost as if you're making it a bad thing. Either way, I guess the answer would be, because obviously the Republican who served the last eight years did such a HORRIBLE job, that we need a Democrat. Let me guess you voted for Bush? Well obviously he was a poor choice in the last two elections. While I have reservations on Obama as President, I wanted Clinton, I would rather have a Democrat. The last President put our nation in such a horrible economic downward spiral that it is going to take years to recover from. I'm sure many people have a bad taste in their mouth as far as Republicans go. So many people lost their homes, jobs, vehicles, etc... Many people were either unisured or underinsured because republicans have done nothing to help regulate the cost of private insurance or lower the requirements for goverment funded insurance programs. Instead Republicans cut the amount of funding to those programs, in addition to the funding for social security disability, educational programs like no child left behind, which was a joke. With Obama in office, the people now have hope of keeping their homes, their jobs, getting children with special needs an education equivilent to children with out them. They now have hope of being able to get insurance for their families. Why would you think it's a bad thing? Obama promised change, and I will support him as long as he keeps his word. He has made plans to try and reverse all the damage done by Bush and his administration. Hopefully, we can start taking proper care of all our war vets, who once again under a Republican's thumb, were being negleted and treated horrifically when they were able to return home. Hopefully, he will reverse the ban on gay marriage and instill equal rights for EVERYONE, reguardless of race, origin, gender, and sexual orientation. The fact of the matter is, you're an American, so accept the fact that we now have a democrat, who also happens to be the first black president, in office. As a citizen you should show him your support and hope for the best.

THEY OUTSOURCED ALOT OF AMERICAN JOBS, RAISING UNEMPLOYMENT, USED BILLIONS OF DOLLARS TO FIGHT A WAR THAT IS NOW BEING TERMED THE SENCOND VIETNAM, GAVE BILLIONS TO MIDDLE EASTERN COUNTRIES TO HELP THE "BUILD" THEIR GOVERNMENT AND ECONOMIES, THUS MOVING US INTO THIS STATE OF FINACIAL DEVISTATION. YOU CAN KEEP TELLING YOURSELF OTHERWISE, BUT ANYONE WITH COMMON SENSE CAN ADD THE NUMBERS. HE PAID MORE ATTENTION TO COUNTRIES WE ARE AT WAR WITH THAN THE ONE HE WAS VOTED TO OVERSEE SO THAT HIS BUDDIES COULD FILL THEIR POCKETS AS WE EMPTIED OURS. Just after Obama left New York while campaigning, they put one of his SO-CALLED GREAT IDEAS into effect. For the highest paid state employees they normally give them each 2 weeks unpaid vacation and take the money they would have paid them and put it into a pot so they had the chance to earn it back. Instead what they did was take that money and distributed it as a bonus to the lowest paid state employees. Good for those who didnt earn it, bad for those who did. Not a very good idea when he takes your vacation money and distributes it to someone who didn't earn it. That is a fact. As for the other stuff that he has done that speaks for itself and slaps alot of people in the face. Hope your spouse is not in the military, cause by the time he gets done with it we'll be lucky to have any defense system at all.

The horrible economic downturn started with the democrats. All hes is gonna do is put a bandade on a bullet wound as far as giving people money to save their homes because they got so far in debt they couldn't pay their bills and hes gonna give them more credit, that is the joke.
