GAY MARRIAGE

EVERYONE DESERVES THE RIGHT TO MARRY

Gay marriage has been a huge controversy in our nation for quite a while now.  Many of you call homosexuality an abomination of God and a choice.  Being gay or lesbian is not a choice you make or a lifestyle you choose for the time being.  That is the way you were born.  I know many people who are gay and lesbian, and none of them chose it.  Many knew from the time they were small children that they were "different" from others of their gender.  Several people I know, would prefer to be straight because of the issues and discrimination they deal with on a daily basis.

Why is it, gays and lesbians fight in our wars, enlist in our military(as long as they keep it quiet), pay the same taxes, and follow the same laws that all other citizens, but they cannot get married?  How is this fair?  California took a huge step when gay marriage was allowed, but than took three steps back when they, once again, banned it.

Many believe that it is a violation of right to deny them this.  What happened to equality?  I'm sure not many of us women out there even remember a time before we had rights.  We couldn't make the same wages, do the same work, or even vote like the men could.  Can you imagine if our rights were being with held?  There was a time when Black, Hispanic, and Native people didn't have rights either.  Can you imagine losing your rights?

If there is a law regarding a separation between church and state, than why are these two being blended where gay rights are concerned.  If not for the beliefs of the church regarding homosexuality, gay marriage wouldn't be an issue.  Would it?  I think that for the nation to leave the rights of another in the hands of others is wrong and shouldn't be allowed.  This country has been a sanctuary for those escaping religious persecution, and yet gays and lesbians are being persecuted by religious people.

As many of you that are anti-gay, I hope you realize that Obama is not.  He fully supports gay marriage as well as gay rights.  So lets just hope that in addition to getting our economy back on track, he'll also support and encourage gay rights.  Hopefully, that will be a change he makes.

I don't understand gays. I've got gay friends but I don't understand them... how can a man feel like a woman... da*n... we sure live in a crazy world. Now marrying each other... double da*n. I can understand a coward... but a gay? Whew...

I asked one of the gays.. and s-he just answered, "It just is."

Another answer, "It is the will of the Lord."

LOL :-)

You don't have to understand something to accept it. Understanding or not understanding it doesn't make it wrong. Do you considsider a child who is born with down syndrome wrong? Against the Lord's will? What about a black child? A white child? An indian child? Those are all things we connot avoid being born to because of a genetic gene we carry. Do you know that doctors are now saying that homosexuality is a genetic trait? They have been doing many studies trying to identify it. If a woman delivers identical twins, they will Both either be straight, gay/lesbian, or bisexual. How is that possible if it wasn't due to a gene we carry? If the Lord didn't will it, people wouldn't be born like that. Just like in the animal kingdom, a white german shepard is an anomolie, yet it still lives and thrives. Even against adversity with other german shepards. Would you not buy one just because it's white instead of the typical colors? Being gay or lesbian is not a choice people make usually. It's the way they are born. Granted some people will often swing from both trees to experiment, but those are not the people I refer to. I think just because someone is different and we don't undertsnad it, it doesn't make them less deserving of our rights. Everyday we afford those rights to people who in many ways are againnst our country, but we cannot give them to those who believe in it or fight for it. Something is wrong there, wouldn't you say? Point is, it's okay if you don't understand it, but don't discriminate against it. I thank you for your comment though.
